Air Quality & Goal 1 - End poverty in all its forms

Climate change and air quality have disproportionate impacts on vulnerable individuals. It is necessary to understand these impacts to eradicate poverty in all its forms.

Target 1.5 seeks to reduce exposure to climate-related impacts. Improving air quality can help reduce medical expenses and financial hardships caused by air pollution.

Poverty is a multidimensional problem requiring a multi-pronged approach to eradicating it. Target 1.5  is to build the resilience of the poor and those in vulnerable situations and reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate-related extreme events and other economic, social and environmental shocks and disasters by 2030.
