Canadian Biodiversity Indicators
Environment Canada (EC) is currently in the process of developing national Canadian Biodiversity Indicators.
As you may recall, material was submitted to Environment Canada commenting on the proposed targets. A fundamental issue was how much the national targets departed from the international Aichi Targets. Although some of our concerns were recognized (see the EC global overview of comments received last fall at this link), there has been no fundamental change in the Targets (which can be found at this link). EC has now proposed draft indicators (at this link) to measure progress against the targets.

We a currently in the process of preparing a “straw dog” critique of the proposed indications to prompt discussion. The current "straw dog" outline can be found here.
