Youth Caucus

Youth Advisory Board

During summer 2011, the Youth Caucus is undergoing a structural readjustment that will bring young people into greater contact with the expertise and knowledge of RCEN’s existing program caucuses.

Instead of a separate caucus, the involvement of young people in the RCEN’s existing programs will be managed through a new overarching body, the Youth Advisory Board, which will support the capacity of RCEN to ensure meaningful involvement of individuals under 30 in the organization. Potential activities of the YAB range from offering orientation and training workshops to conducting outreach activities.

In order to make sure that this transition is successful, we are forming a Transition Working Group, which will include youth and other internal stakeholders.

Youth Caucus Mentorship Project

After several months of hard work from mentorship participants from St. John's to Vancouver, the Youth Caucus Mentorship Working Group releases its mentorship report.

Youth Caucus Mini-Consultation Report

In order to reinstate the Youth Caucus, we held a series of mini-consultations with youth environmental NGOs across Canada. The outcome of this process has allowed us to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in the national youth environmental movement. Read the report
