Prince Edward Island Eco-Net
The Prince Edward Environmental Network (PEIEN) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental network of groups working to improve the environment on PEI. The organization was originally formed in 1991 and was formally incorporated as a co-operative in 2000. The network helps each of its member groups satisfy their mandates through the sharing of information and through provision of administrative and technical support.
The PEIEN office produces a weekly environmental news summary (E-News) and a quarterly newsletter, when financially achievable. The office acts as a point of access to federal, provincial and community programs and provides information for member organizations about new and innovative initiatives in the ENGO and government sectors. The PEIEN is conveniently located above the Anne Store, at the corner of Richmond and Queen, downtown Charlottetown. The office is open from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, and the public is always welcome to drop by.
